Born in 1922 he debuted in 1958 with titles such as Gegege no Kitaro, Kappa no Sanpei and Akuma-kun. From this impressive line up we have picked his most famous creation, Gegege no Kitaro a series of books that focus on a boy with mystic powers and an interesting coterie of allies, relatives and friends such Medama Oyaj, Neko Musume, Nezumi Otoko and others.
