Marsatac Music Festival "Anti - Advertisement"
French artdirector and graphic designer Tabas alias Cedric Malo had a special "Anti-Advertisement" idea for the promotion of the Marsatac Music Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2008 from September 25th - 27th. The advertisement for this event is a pure white poster! The idea behind this "anti-advertisement" is to let the audience focus on the details in the background instead of the poster design itself. The white poster is held by artists in front of their body in their personal spaces, hiding their identity, but showing their inspiring environment. View more details about the project here.

The Center of Something
The Center of Something is Chris Rubino's take on New York as a destination for both visiting and living. Taking advantage of the Times Square location Rubino has created what he is referring to as a "limited tourist attaraction". The Exhibit is modeled after the dozens of stores in the neighbourhood selling the same insane souvenirs playing off tourist's pre-cenceived image(s) of New York. In an attempt to create new "icons" for the city Rubino's installation will consist of his "souvenirs" as well as hand drawn screenprints that create pieces of the New York daily visual language. i.e., maps advertisements, signage, etc. Tourists will be encouraged to visit, interact and possibly question what they exactly are experiencing. Sponsored by Chashama Starting from May 30th until June 15th. location: Times Square New York

A Benefit Show for the Environment
Open Space Gallery New York, 12th April - 3rd May
The average family brings home 1,000 plastic bags every year. It is time for us to switch from a disposable society to one which reduces, reuses and recycles. This show will help spread the message that we care about our planet and do not want to just consume until there is nothing left. We are certain that we will all make a difference.
Open Space has asked 125 artists from around the world to donate their time and talent to this cause in the form of custom-designed tote bags. The bags will be on display and available to purchase at Open Space from April 12th thru May 3rd and will also exist on this site during and after the show for all to see and purchase. 90% of the proceeds from the sales of the show will go to the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, an amazing New York-based organization committed to environmental educaiton and advocacy.
