Spring is an independent illustration, comic and art magazine, published by a group of german female illustrators.
Spring is a way to express analog talent from the idea, the sketch, the first pencil line into the bookstores and galleries,
all handmade and self directed. The fifth issue "Alter Ego" will be celebrated by July 11th at the Hinterconti in Hamburg.
Participating illustrators are graniph collaborators Katharina Gschwendtner and Carolin Loebbert.

On 11 June 2008, the dutch queen, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix opened the Graphic Design Museum, Beyerd Breda, the first museum in the world that concentrates specifically on graphic design. An institute that will act as museum, knowledge centre, teaching environment, shop for image culture, designer cafe and production house for graphic design. The Graphic Design Museum offers established designers an international stage and is, at the same time, a spring-board for new top talent. The last hundred years are brought to life for everybody in an interactive exhibition which includes work by Piet Zwart, Wim Crouwel, Anthon Bekke and Erik Kessels.

Illustrative is an annual exhibition of international contemporary illustrators. It started in 2006 in Berlin, was held in Paris in 2007 and arrives in Zurich for the first time this year.
Entry to the Illustrative "Young Illustrators Award" is now open for all illustrators, graphic artist and designers!
The 20 winners will be (1) exhibited in a separate section at the upcoming ILLUSTRATIVE, the international festival for contemporary graphic and illustrative art, and (2) integrated into the artist selection of Illustrative. One winner will be given the opportunity to create a limited-edition watch for Swatch - a great chance to join the ranks of artists such as Kiki Picasso, Tadanori Yokoo and Keith Haring!Other winners can look forward to prizes such as exhibition opportunities, agency contracts and publication in international magazines.

The Kalimera communication agency, together with Red Publishing, editorial house of Modena, have gathered artworks of the most interesting Italian graphic designers. All artworks are collected in the book "Italian Renaissance" to promote the theme of "communication and creativity related to culture and an economical development" as well as part of exhibitions, conference, performances, workshops and other public happenings. This project is touring through Europe, starting from Italy and will hopefully also arriving in other parts of the world.
One of the participating artists is Gianni Rossi.

The Hay Festival happens each year in Wales and it is all about literature and the arts. Jon Burgerman created two giant 2x2x2m cubes, a smaller cube, two 1x2m panels and twenty A1 sized panels and anyone could come along to the Sky Arts dome where the cubes were and colour them in, completing the work how they saw fit. The first 200 people to come and colour in each day got an exclusive tote bag designed by Burgerman, for free. The pens for the event were kindly provided by Posca.

The music event Hovefestivalen takes place in Tromoya, Arendal in Norway, June 23rd - 27th with artists such as Beck, Jay-Z, Hellacopters and Babyshambles. This years poster was illustrated and designed by Swedish graphic designers Var who also designed t-shirt prints for the festival.

French artdirector and graphic designer Tabas alias Cedric Malo had a special "Anti-Advertisement" idea for the promotion of the Marsatac Music Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2008 from September 25th - 27th.
The advertisement for this event is a pure white poster! The idea behind this "anti-advertisement" is to let the audience focus on the details in the background instead of the poster design itself. The white poster is held by artists in front of their body in their personal spaces, hiding their identity, but showing their inspiring environment.

Exhibition of Moscow Museum of Modern Art which owns works by the key painters in “Russian Avant-garde” which flowered in the first half of the 20th century.
A collection of 70 works by 30 artists including ten works of each of Malevich and Pirosmani will be on display.
