"Life with Control Bear"
"Life with Control Bear" by Shun Kawakami Ikebana often resembles life - the seasons, chance encounters, a fleeting moment, life and death. Pairing Control Bear with ikebana conveys a message that just the presence of this little bear can add a little light to your life.

The difference between regular bears and Control Bear is the space between the body and head.
Perhaps this space of freedom is the identity of Control Bear..... if so, is it possible to represent the bear without the body?

ROCK AND ROLL "OUT OF CONTROL" Bear!
Open Reel Ensemble [Artist]
Formed 2009 by Ei Wada and college fellows Kimitoshi Sato, Haruka Yoshida, Takumi, Namba, and Masaru Yoshida (bass). Open Reel Ensemble combines old school, reel-to-reel (“open reel”) tape deck and modern technology into a “musical instrument”. They construct music as an ensemble by manipulating
reel-to-reel tape decks with all their might and by using voices and sounds sampled on the spot, pursuing an alternative value of a forgotten media form, and attempting to explore the world of “convivial tools”.
In 2012, released their first album "Open Reel Ensemble".

"ATTACH / DETACH"
What this bear controls is not his detached head, but the binary attach/detach decision. The head is swapped with an open reel and tape loosely connects it with the body.

" Control flower "
Even the most beautiful flower has a strong spirit.

Control Bear
Control Bear is a project with a distinct twist of black humor, which surpasses the traditional notion of a character and moves into the realms of art.

Through a long period of trial and error in multiple mediums including typography, collage and illustration, the artist felt that the best way to share his message with many people was by using this character as a medium.

By creating an image that is so unexpected and unusual - a cute, innocent bear taking off his own head - the artist communicates his message: you control everything, be strong willed and don't be controlled by others or just follow what others expect you to do.

While being extremely simple this piece of art holds a strong message.
